The Choice of Glass

For us, the jar has never been just packaging. It is part of the way we care for the food.
From the beginning, we chose glass.
Not because it was easier. Not because it was the most convenient solution. But because it felt right for the kind of food we wanted to make.
Glass is clear. It lets you see the recipe before you open it: the vegetables, the texture, the colour, the real presence of the food inside. Nothing is hidden. What you see is what you will eat.
Glass also protects taste.
It preserves the recipe without adding anything to it. No unwanted aftertaste. No interference. Just the food, held simply and cleanly until the moment you open the jar.
For us, this matters.
A Karine & Jeff jar is not only a way to carry a meal. It is a way to give that meal the place it deserves. The glass protects the food, but it also respects it. It allows a ready meal to remain visible, generous, and honest.
This choice has shaped our cooking from the very beginning.
It is why our recipes are prepared directly in their jars. It is why colour, texture, and balance matter so much to us. And it is why opening a jar should still feel close to opening something cooked with care.
Simple food deserves a noble material.
That is why we chose glass. And why we still do.
